Gothic Knife is a casual reflex game built around throwing knives into a rotating target. Each stage asks the player to place a set number of blades without striking the knives already embedded in the wheel. As the run continues, the target becomes faster and less predictable, and every third stage shifts into a boss encounter that changes the rhythm of the standard pattern. Play centers on a single repeated action: tapping or clicking to release a knife at the current moment. Because the throw itself is fixed, the main decision is when to act rather than how to aim. The player has to read the target’s rotation, identify open gaps, and commit before the opening closes. That creates a clear trade-off between speed and safety: rapid throws can build momentum and support the combo system, but waiting for a cleaner opening reduces the chance of clipping another blade or an obstacle. Boss stages add another layer by interrupting the regular pacing with more specialized attack windows.
